We've finally gotten to Spring after a Winter that wouldn't quit.
Naturally, we spent some weekends at Possum Trot and of course, there
were a few projects......
I
bought a house this winter to rehab and resell. These
cabinets were in it and we decided they'd do nicely at the
cabin along with a new top.
We now
have a new sink, a new faucet and it's all easy to clean and
the humidity in the cabin won't make it curl up at the edges
like our last countertop!
The
field below the cabin was in full bloom with some of the
thousands of bulbs we've planted there.
My
bride in the field. Lovely, eh? The
flowers are too, of course....
This is the view in our back yard this spring. It is
just a spectacular year for dogwoods!
We
walked up on this newborn fawn over the Memorial Day holiday
at Possum Trot
I've
nursed this Epiphyllum for over ten years waiting for it to
bloom! It was pretty nice!
Mary
Louise and I got the wedding threads out of storage and
tried them on for our anniversary. I don't think we
look too bad after 36 years....
We
watched momma cardinal sitting on the nest in our buckthorn
bushes as we picked berries this summer and then one day
this little guy poked his head up for a feed as we walked
by!
The
flowers in our front garden have been joyful this year.
So much fun to watch them carry on like this.
Our
record this summer was nine quarts one day! And, we
ran out of quarts and enthusiasm, not berries!
For
the first time in a long time, we had currents this year.
Lots of fruit for jelly and for freezing.
